"Story
Hour Tea"
An OOAK Ensemble for 14"
Kish Dolls
The
view of the bay from Grace's bedroom window is obscured this morning.
Wisps of ethereal white fog drifts through the trees that
surround her home. Perhaps the sun will burn off the fog later
in the day, but whether or not that happens is of no consequence to
Grace this morning. She is preparing to go to the annual Summer
Story Hour Tea, and nothing will dampen her enthusiasm for that event.
As one of this summer's readers, she has been invited to "take
tea" with the young Summer Story Hour participants, as well as the
other readers who have brought much joy to them during the summer
months.
The Cranberry Cove Public
Library is housed in an
historic house. Many hours of volunteer labor have brought the
house back to its former beauty. This summer, the building has
received a new coat of paint, and it is easy for to imagine life
back in the time when the house was new.
Summer Story
Hour is held in the spacious front parlor of the house. On clear
mornings, the room is bathed in warm sunlight. This morning, it
is the bright faces of those who are attending the eagerly-anticipated
party that will light up the room. Besides peppermint tea and
lemonade, the guests will enjoy tiny pastries and diminutive cookies
provided by Mrs. White, the proprietress of Mrs. White's Tea Room at
The Inn at Rose Point. It's easy to understand why the children
regard this as one of summer's premier social events!

Grace's
four-piece OOAK "Story Hour Tea" ensemble is
made from a variety of high-quality 100% cotton fabrics. This
ensemble will fit any of Helen Kish's new 14-inch multi-jointed dolls
(Grace, Piper, Lark, Raven, Wren, Song). It may fit other dolls
of similar size. If you
have
any question as to whether or not it will fit your doll, please contact
me.

A
soft rose floral print on a field of creamy yellow forms the basis
of Grace's empire-waisted dress, which will stand in for the lack
of
natural sunshine this morning. Piping of green stripes trims the
sailor-inspired white tonal print collar. It is used again as the
neckline insert.
A handknit
flower and leaves accents the dress
bodice. The center of the vibrant pink rose features a tiny seed
bead.
White cotton
beading and a band of the green
stripes encircle the hem of the skirt. Threaded through the
beading to add a gentle ruffling to the bottom of the skirt, is a
length of vibrant pink gingham print ribbon.
The dress
bodice is fully lined, and
closes in
back with sewn-in snaps.

Another
handknit flower embellishes the brim of the matching hat.
The fully-lined hat is made from the rose print, with a self-piped brim
of the green stripes. White beading threaded with gingham print
ribbon trims the hat crown.

Under
her dress, Grace wears a pair of white pantalettes, the legs of
which
are trimmed to mirror the hem of the skirt. Pink gingham ribbon
button bows add further interest to the legs of the pantalettes.

A cozy handknit
shrug, made from soft pink cotton yarn, completes the ensemble.
Grace's "Story Hour Tea" ensemble consists of her dress, hat,
pantalettes, and shrug. My
doll is not included; nor is any other clothing, or any pictured props
that are not mentioned in the description
above.
This Mally
McCoy Tea Party Wear fashion was created in a smoke-free,
pet-free environment from high-quality materials. We strive to
create fashionable clothing with a touch of whimsy, that will please
both you and your dolls.
